Brand Ambassadors – Finland

What characterizes your trucks?

All of our trucks share the same black and red color scheme, complemented by plenty of stainless-steel details. At first glance they may look similar, but each truck has its own unique touches when you take a closer look.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

My name is Sebastian Nyqvist, I’m 38 years old and one of the members of Team Hautanen. I also run a company in the construction industry. Over the years, I’ve worked within the trucking industry in various roles, including truck driver and transport manager.

Within Team Hautanen, I take on a bit of everything, but I mainly work alongside Toni Hahka, who owns the custom interior company Paulamäki Customs. His craftsmanship can be seen in many truck cabins displayed at shows and exhibitions across the industry.

Niclas Hautanen, who owns the haulage company, and I have been friends since childhood, and you could say we’re cut from the same cloth. Niclas started the business in 2007 with an excavator and purchased his first truck in 2010. Since then, the company has grown steadily and now employs around 30 full-time staff, with an additional 20 people joining during the busiest seasons.

How would you describe Team Hautanen?

Hautanen Transport is a flexible haulage company operating across almost all of the Nordic region. Our main focus is timber transportation, but we also handle gravel transport, as well as the sale of soil and crushed aggregate products. We are also involved in earthworks and infrastructure projects.

What truly drives the company forward is our strong team of employees. Everyone works towards the same goals, and that shared determination allows us to keep developing the business and stay at the forefront when taking on new projects.

Where do you find inspiration for your builds and customizations?

A lot of our inspiration comes from our local area and the environments where we work every day. But the best ideas are usually born late in the evening in the sauna, sharing a beer with good friends.

“Building a strong reputation year after year means more than winning trophies”

What motivates you to participate in truck shows and exhibitions, and what do you enjoy most about them?

Well, you know what they say — once you start, you always want more! But honestly, it’s the sense of community with like-minded people and the appreciation we receive for all the work we put into our trucks.

Most of the work involved in building our show trucks and preparing for exhibitions actually happens outside regular working hours, so it’s rewarding to see that effort recognized.

How do OZZ Lights products contribute to your driving experience and the appearance of your trucks?

First and foremost, we need reliable products that perform when it matters. Having a range of stylish products that fit perfectly with the look of our trucks has made the choice easy for us.

What does it mean to you to be part of the OZZ Lights team?

It feels exciting to be part of promoting a product that we genuinely like and believe in ourselves.

“Our trucks need to look great, but they also have to work hard every day.
That’s why we choose OZZ Lights.

What are your favorite OZZ Lights products, and what makes them special to you?

The XR2 P9 is definitely a long-time favorite. We were among the first in Finland to install this type of light on a couple of our trucks, even before it was released under the OZZ Lights brand and introduced to the Finnish market.

After that summer, the light became available and quickly appeared on many more vehicles throughout Finland.

What are you most proud of as a team?

We’re proud of having built a positive reputation for ourselves within the trucking scene. Building a winning truck and taking home all the trophies for one year is something many people can achieve.

The real challenge is staying there, remaining respected and appreciated year after year, even when you’re not the one winning.

If someone meets your trucks on the road, what stands out the most?

Clean, well-maintained trucks (well, clean most of the time!) with just the right amount of lighting. What really makes them stand out is the carefully planned placement and use of lights, creating a balanced and distinctive appearance.

Are there any new OZZ Lights products you’re looking forward to testing?

We’re about to test the new work lights on two of our trucks and compare them to products we’ve used previously. We have high expectations for these lights and are excited to see how they perform.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not out on the road?

I enjoy relaxing with great food and drinks together with family or close friends. During the summer, a lot of my free time is spent attending truck shows and exhibitions.

As Niclas likes to say, when you’re a business owner, work is never very far away—you’re never completely off duty because you never know when your next great business idea might appear.

How would you describe your shared style when it comes to your builds?

We focus on well-thought-out builds with high standards for quality from all suppliers involved. Our trucks should stand out—but in the right way.

With our show trucks, we always aim to create that “wow” factor, while never compromising functionality. Every truck we build is still expected to do its job and work hard every day.
