THE OZZ WARRANTY

What does the functional warranty cover?

Our functional warranty means that your OZZ Lights lighting product is expected to function as intended throughout the warranty period, provided that it is installed, used and maintained in accordance with the product instructions and its intended use.

The warranty covers defects resulting from:

  • defects in materials
  • manufacturing defects
  • design defects
  • component defects that cause the product to cease functioning as intended or significantly impair its intended function.

If a defect covered by the warranty occurs during the warranty period, we undertake to assist in resolving the issue in accordance with the terms below.

When does the warranty apply?

For the warranty to apply, the product must have been installed and used in accordance with OZZ Lights’ instructions and within the specified technical specifications.

Where required by the type of product and applicable regulations, installation must be carried out in a professional manner.

The date of purchase must be verified by a receipt, invoice or other proof of purchase.

The product labelling and sticker displaying the batch number must remain in place and be legible. The batch number is important for product traceability and enables OZZ Lights to identify the production date and relevant production data. The batch number or any other labelling containing traceability information must therefore not be removed or rendered illegible.

What is not covered by the functional warranty?

The functional warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or defects and damage resulting from external factors, incorrect installation, improper use or modification of the product.

This includes, for example:

  • damage resulting from accidents, collisions, impacts, shocks or other external factors
  • use outside the product’s intended purpose or specified technical specifications
  • incorrect installation, mounting, connection or voltage
  • modifications, alterations or repairs not approved by OZZ Lights, where these have caused or contributed to the defect
  • damage caused by chemicals, cleaning agents or cleaning methods for which the product is not designed
  • damage resulting from inadequate care or maintenance.

Normal cosmetic changes that do not affect the product’s functionality, such as minor scratches, discolouration or lens fogging, are not covered by the functional warranty.

If something happens – what to do

If you experience a problem with your OZZ Lights product, please contact the retailer from whom the product was purchased in the first instance.

To enable us to process your claim as quickly as possible, you will normally need to provide:

  • a receipt, invoice or other proof of purchase
  • the product article number
  • the batch number and, where applicable, serial number
  • a brief description of the defect
  • a photo or video showing the product and the defect, where possible.

OZZ Lights or the retailer may, where necessary, request that the product be sent in for technical assessment.

What happens if a warranty claim is approved?

If the defect is covered by the functional warranty, OZZ Lights will, depending on what is appropriate in the individual case:

  • repair the product, or
  • replace the product with a new or equivalent product.

If the original product is no longer available, it may be replaced with a product offering equivalent functionality and performance.

Costs beyond the product itself

The functional warranty applies to the OZZ Lights product itself.

Costs relating to, for example, removal, mounting, installation, troubleshooting, downtime or other indirect costs are not covered by the voluntary functional warranty, except where otherwise required by mandatory law.

Resale

The functional warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable upon resale unless otherwise expressly stated by OZZ Lights.

The warranty is an additional commitment from OZZ Lights

OZZ Lights’ 5-year functional warranty is a voluntary commitment and applies in addition to any rights the purchaser may have under applicable law.

The warranty does not limit consumers’ statutory rights, including the right to make a claim regarding a defective product under applicable consumer protection legislation.
